My name is Patrice Sterling, and I have been taking care of a son with Sickle Cell Disease for the last 20 years. Like my son, there are approximately 7 million school-aged children in the U.S. classified under the Special Education umbrella, and a staggering 13% is due to medical issues. While attending school, these students must also endure numerous appointments and hospital stays and maintain organized medical and educational information accurately.
